Master Key System — Design & Installation

£395.00
System Size

Master key systems designed and installed in Preston from £395. A master key system lets one 'master' key open every lock in your property, while individual users only get a key to their own door. Ideal for landlords with HMOs, offices with restricted areas, schools, care homes, blocks of flats, and any property where you need to control who can access what — without issuing dozens of unique keys.

What's included

  • On-site survey to map every door, user, and access permission
  • System design — single master, grand master, or multi-level hierarchy
  • Supply of master-keyed cylinders to your chosen security grade
  • Installation across every lock in the system
  • Issue of all keys, key control record, and key holder log
  • Optional restricted/patented key profiles to prevent unauthorised copying

Pricing

Small systems (2–5 cylinders) from £395. Medium systems (6–12 cylinders) from £695. Large systems (13+ cylinders) from £1,195. Final price depends on cylinder security grade (standard, anti-snap, or 3-star TS007) and whether you opt for restricted key profiles. No VAT and no call-out fee — the price you see is the price you pay. Parts and labour are included unless otherwise stated.

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is a master key system?
A keying arrangement where one master key operates every lock in a property, but each individual user's key only operates their own designated door.

Who needs a master key system?
Landlords with HMOs and shared houses, offices, schools, care homes, churches, charities, blocks of flats — anywhere multiple users need different access levels.

Can my existing locks be master-keyed?
Sometimes — if the cylinders are from a compatible manufacturer and security level. Otherwise we supply new cylinders designed and keyed together as one system.

Are master key systems secure?
Yes, when designed with restricted/patented key profiles. Restricted keys can only be copied with your written authorisation — far more secure than standard cut-anywhere keys.

Can the master key be revoked later?
If a key is lost or compromised, the affected cylinders can be re-keyed without replacing the whole system. We'll quote on a per-cylinder basis.
